The Power of Connection and Communication: Building a Trauma Informed Wakefield

With over four-thousand members of staff across a city, five towns and eighty different working sites, the scale of change needed to be trauma informed at Wakefield Council can be daunting. However, it also brings transformational opportunity. One year into my trauma informed journey, I will reflect on the progress, challenges and learnings I have found across the council and VCSE in the Wakefield district. I will discuss the power of connectivity and how having a collaborative force is what is helping Wakefield begin to achieve this cultural shift.
